Wireless congestion zone management solution
Cities such as Singapore, London, and Stockholm have introduced congestion charges to help resolve traffic overloads in central business districts. The most frequently used systems require costly and unsightly gantry installations.
Today, payment is generally handled by passive, single-purpose terminals, coupled with video cameras. This is being used in Singapore, Stockholm, London (extension 2), while London phase 1 just uses cameras.
The first congestion charge programs confirmed that charging for entry to congested areas is an efficient way to reduce traffic (around –20% to start). Many other cities are now considering adopting similar systems (all major urban areas in the United Kingdom, for example).
Yadilys offers a significantly more flexible solution, at a far lower cost than other systems. Cost reductions in Yadilys are largely due to the low cost of its network equipment, the elimination of gantries, and above all the fact that Yadilys infrastructure can be used for multiple services at the same time.
Yadilys gives municipalities the information they need in order to send payment receipts by SMS or e-mail, or let users download them from the Internet.
A complementary system with far fewer cameras is only needed to enforce payment by vehicles not equipped with Yadilys. Pictures still need to be taken of cars without Yadilys, but over time this will result in significant savings for large cities.
With a good incentive program, 60 to 80 percent of vehicles frequently visiting an area are likely to end up preferring Yadilys, especially since it lets them take advantage of other services. The more services, the lower the overall operating costs for service operators and users alike.

Yadilys networks are easy to use and to install, with their 2-way communications and intelligent embedded software (which is not the case with other solutions).
When a Yadilys-equipped car enters a congestion charge zone, the Yadilys wireless network picks up the signal, automatically debits the driver’s account, and forwards the usage information to information systems servers as needed.
